Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa, Saas-Fee is the ideal hotel that will take care of your mind, body and soul. By having said that I mean that in this hotel we can have a full rejuvenation. No matter if you are searching for active holidays or relaxing time with family. Everyone can find something ideal for themselves. For instance, if you are focused on active holidays the hotel offers sports activities. There are ski guiding tours and group classes. If your focus is the soul and you dream about relaxation then the spa area is just perfect. There are different saunas, relaxations rooms, massages and more. Ideal for relaxing body and soul. This wonderful Chalet Hotel also offers something for food lovers. There are 3 restaurants with different styles and menus. A lovely bar and the most delicious breakfast.
This was not my feeling after staying there but the hotel manager Klaus Habegger also stated it as a core value of the hotel.

The Walliserhod Gran-Hotel & Spa, Saas-Fee
This gorgeous 5-star hotel radiates Alpine chic. The hotel was completely redesigned in 2019 and brings together all the elements that have made well-being a truly unforgettable experience. It is wonderfully located just next to white Saas-Fee peaks in a small yet charming village. I like Saas-Fee Village mostly because it’s car-free and only small electric cars are allowed there. There are many beautiful old houses, nice streets with local coffee shops, and bakeries. It’s easy to get to the ski lift and skiing in Saas-Fee is a pleasure. The infrastructure is amazing and the views breathtaking. Most of all in Saas-Fee there is this fresh and crisp mountain air that energizes and makes it the ideal retreat place.
The Walliserhof Grand Hotel & Spa is located in such dreamy scenery and offers wonderful views from the hotel. The hotel has 74 rooms. Large indoor swimming pool, invigorating jacuzzi, many saunas and steam bath. Treatments rooms, restaurants, bar and wonderful service that helps guests to meet all their needs.
Ambience
As I already mentioned The Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa is a Chalet-Style Hotel with a lot of opulent materials. Wood, fireplaces, furs, cosy sofas and soft, natural colours. The colours of the interiors are mostly brown, beige, and gold. While I stayed there, there were plenty of freshly cut lilies as a decoration and the whole interior smelled divine. On the white walls, there are black & white pictures representing the village and the mountains. It gives a contemporary feeling to the place and also makes us not forget that it’s a famous swiss ski resort.
Room with a view
During our lovely stay at Walliserhof Grand-Hotel and Spa we stayed in a Superior Double Room. It was a room made for dreaming, mostly because of its beautiful view of the glacier. I truly enjoyed morning coffee with the view and afternoon rays of sun on my face over there.
We had all we needed for a comfortable stay. There was a large king-size bed and sofa that turned into a bed for my son. There is a good coffee machine, mini-bar and sitting area. We had a separate room for suitcases and a storage area and a nice bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The room had a truly Alpine feel to it. There was a lot of wood, fluffy covers, designer lamps and small decor. In the bathroom, all toiletries were in full size by luxury, London brand Molton Brown. They smelled divine.
Wellness Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa
I truly enjoyed the wellness area at Walliserhof Hotel. It has over 2100m2 with all we need for a lovely stay in the mountains. There is a large indoor pool ideal for the whole family. There is a special Splash time when children are welcomed. It is such a great idea, both for children and adults. I especially loved the beautiful and large chandelier that was a central piece of the pool area. It looks very elegant and so sophisticated.
There is a separate place for saunas, steam baths, relaxation zone and more. There is also an outdoor jacuzzi, which sadly was closed when I stay at the hotel.
I also visited the hotel’s beauty therapist. I tried a full body relaxing massage and also a Rasul. I truly recommend this to all the guests. I felt like in the orient for a few hours, but after my skin was glowing and I felt rested and relaxed. There is also an option of having this treatment in a couple and I am sure it must be a great experience.
The Walliserhof’s spa also offers different treatments and works with Klapp cosmetics and Parisian brand Sothys.
Children and pets are welcomed
As a mom and dog owner, I always look for a place where my whole family. is welcomed. This was the case at Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa.
Starting with my child. As a welcome, he has received a lovely little bathrobe and sleepers along with a tiny marmot, a soft toy. He imminently loved it and was taking it everywhere. Regarding the kids club at this hotel, it is surely the best kids club in the town. We actually already placed my son in this kids club last year and he loved it there. There was great child care until 9 pm so we were able to have some parents’ alone time. Children were definitely not bored. They had many activities and my little one made some friends there. In short, all parents will love this part of the hotel. Also as I mentioned earlier there is a splashing time at the pool that all the children can enjoy. It was a great idea and shows how much it’s a family-oriented hotel.
Regarding dogs. My little Matissise receive a bed that he immediately loved and stayed there most of the stay. He was welcomed in many areas of the hotel, apart from the CÄSAR RITZ restaurant, where he was in the handbag.
Winter Activities. What to do in Saas-Fee in winter
Saas-Fee is one of the ultimate winter destinations. Travellers from all around the world love it. It’s famous for its winter sports, but also it’s an interesting summer destination. What is great about this place is that because it’s so high up in the mountains, skiers can enjoy skiing nearly all year long. We visited Saas-Fee in April and the weather conditions were perfect for skiing. The Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa is also very much integrated into the Saas-Fee tourism and offers wonderful ways for guests to enjoy the village to the fullest.

I must say it was wonderful. Professional and experienced guide skis with the group and shows most wonderful places. He advises where to ski and tells about the domain. The best thing that he does is it also shows beautiful caves and a little bit of off-piste area. The guide is a professional skier and he knows the place in and out and knows exactly where not to ski and where it is safe. It’s a very unique offer and I truly advise all guests to participate in this tour. You can thank me later 🙂
Some places to see during the trip are:
It is placed at 3’500 meters above sea level. It is nice to taste the cuisine with the views of endless mountain peaks. In one hour the restaurant revolves 360 degrees around its axis. It a worth seeing.
High at 3500 m above sea level is a beautiful ice pavilion. It has over 5000 m³ to see. There is a lot of history, mysticism, fairy tales and legends. It’s fascinating to see the ice world and all families will benefit from it.
Breakfast at CÄSAR RITZ with a style
This is a breakfast that you will all enjoy. Breakfast is served in a beautiful CÄSAR RITZ restaurant. There is a nice buffet and there is also the possibility to order some specials. Specials like pancakes, poached eggs or eggs benedict. I especially loved the green smoothie, delicious pecan Danish pastry and bircher muesli.
Restaurants and Bar
Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa offers a true culinary variety. Everyone will find something delicious in one of the three hotels’ restaurants. There is a CÄSAR RITZ restaurant that serves seasonal food and is awarded Gault Millau points. What is great is they care a lot about the food quality, but also waste.
We are convinced that sustainability and a respectful approach to nature start right on the shopping list. This is the only way to create true and conscious culinary delights on the plate,” says Timo Zimmer, head chef.
Sadly I couldn’t try the food there as the restaurant was closed during our stay, but I am very much looking forward to tasting it.
What I did try and enjoyed a lot was dinner at the Italian Restaurant Del Ponte. Everything was delicious and homemade with the best ingredients. I loved their tomatoes soup and octopus. My boys enjoyed pizzas and we had a lovely family dinner there. The place is very cosy, with nice decorations and was very busy and lively. Well recommended, also if you are not staying at the Walliserhof hotel.
On another night we decided to try a fondue. After all, we were in the mountains and we were skiing during the day, so it felt like an obvious choice 🙂 FONDUE-STÜBLI restaurant serves the most famous Swiss specialities, fondue and raclette. In their offer, they have 12 fondue variations and 2 different raclette kinds of cheese to choose from. This evening I opted for a Vegan fondue as I never tried it. It was absolutely delicious. It was made with almond and cashew nuts and many other ingredients. It was so well seasoned that I managed to eat the whole pot! I honestly would love to have it again soon, it was so good.
The hotel bar is an Alpine interior with a modern touch. There is a beautiful bar with many drinks options. A cigar lounge and a fireplace. It’s a cosy place, ideal for sipping drinks by the fire and chatting with friends or family.
Afternoon Tea in the mountain setting
Who doesn’t like delicious cakes in the afternoon? Well, surely not many people will say < I > in this case. If you are like me then you will enjoy an afternoon at the hotel. Walliserhof offers different cakes to its guests in the afternoon. There is always a nice selection to choose from. Including gluten-free and vegan options. The cherry on the top is that it’s all complimentary. As a result bar in the afternoon is full and lively. It’s also an ideal place to speak with other guests about how was their ski day or where are they from.
Interesting facts
This is great information for all George Michael’s fans (including me). In December 1984 Michael and his band Wham! stay stayed at Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa in order to film the legendary video clip „Last Christmas“. They were filming mostly in the chalet near the village, but there are also some snapshots with the gondolas. I find it so cool, as Last Christmas is most likely my favourite Christmas song since I was a little child.
