Cœur de Megève.
Megève is the ideal French winter ski resort in the Mont Blanc massif. It’s a very chic resort. Full of rustic-chic chalets, upmarket hotels and designer boutiques. To name a few: Dior, Hermès, Moncler. The pedestrian centre still has cobbled medieval streets and it adds a lot of charm. In this picturesque setting, you can find a cosy boutique hotel Cœur de Megève. It is ideally located at rue Charles Feige, which is the main street with boutiques shops, and just a few meters from beautiful Place de l’Eglise with its horse carriages, church, and Town Hall building. So now you can understand why this hotel is called Cœur de Megève, it is literally placed in the heart of the town. The hotel was recently reopened (2018) and shortly after become one of the nices hotels in Megève. Right now it is writing a new chapter after the renovation. It’s modern, lifestyle and the place to stay in Megève. It still has a chalet spirit but is suspended between tradition and modernity. Ideal for modern jet-setters.
Cœur de Megève is the place where guests come back regularly. In Summer and in Winter. The lace that local residents like to visit for a nice dinner or cocktails and it always means a lot. Without further ado let me tell you more about the hotel and my experience.

History and Ambience at Cœur de Megève
This hotel has a long history, but the way we can see Cœur de Megève now is the result of a large revamp. Cœur de Megève was reopened in December 2018 after a total renovation. The renovation was done by Parisian Interior Design Studio Sybille de Margerie.
“I wanted the hotel to become a meeting place, lively, warm, elegantly simple, with its resurgence of a luminous past, linked to the present moment, like a photographic snapshot forgotten then found”.
Cœur de Megève hotel is made with two chalets brought together. It displays typical mountain architecture. It features a stunning facade completely covered with tavaillons. They are wooden tiles from the Savoyard region, placed in a very contemporary way. In the interiors, you will find bluestone from Hainaut, wood, cosy furniture, fabrics, blankets, decorations like books, games or candles.
Salon
The centre room of the hotel is a large, cosy lounge with a fireplace in the middle. There is comfortable furniture, also for the little ones. Not to mention the view, which was so picturesque. A village with snow and a river and the mountain view.
Apart from this lovely room in the hotel, you can find a restaurant with alcoves lined with the jacquard pattern of ski sweaters. There is a terrase bar, that can be accessed straight from the street, a cocktail bar on the 1st floor, a breakfast room and an outside bar with hot drinks to go. There is a boutique on-site with some lovely winter essentials and gifts and a spa downstairs. As you can see hotels features everything you need for the most comfortable stay. There is also something unique about the place, it’s their signature scent, which is so delightful.
The hotel is part of Steller Hotels group. They believe in:

What is different is their philosophy-You can see the hotel staff everywhere, even their director Mr Nicholas Granger, is there to welcome guests and you can see him a lot. The staff was friendly and some members were so extremely helpful that we were very grateful for their outstanding service.
Room with a view
In the hotel, you can find 39 rooms and suites, most of which have balconies or terraces. There are cosy attics with bunk beds for children or large bathrooms with a Zen atmosphere. There are superior rooms or larger family suites. These can fit in a family of 5. Rooms feature a lot of wood, warm fabrics and touches of bright colours. All together creates an atmosphere that is both contemporary yet warm, more vintage feel.
I travelled to Megève with my friend and partner in crime: Anna. We have stayed in a Superior room with a large terrace overlooking the Church and a river. It was not a large room but spacious enough for 2 girlfriends like us or a couple. There was everything we needed:
- A mini bar
- Coffee / Tea station
- Amazingly smelling toiletries
- Welcome letter and a gift, Cœur de Megève signature candle.
What I most liked about the room was a very comfortable bed, delicious choice of teas, large terrace and the view. It was just perfect.
Breakfast at Cœur de Megève
Breakfast is my favourite meal in the hotels. For me, nothing beats a good coffee in the morning and a perfectly made dish with eggs. You will not be disappointed while staying at Cœur de Megève with the breakfast choices. There is everything you can expect that that will fill your belly before the active day in the mountains.
You can eat breakfast in the lovely breakfast room connected with the restaurant where you can have your breakfast at. You can also opt for breakfast in the room, as I love to often do during my travels. My favourites were eggs Benedict and caviar and blini. Something that for sure Easter European guests will appreciate a lot. For a lighter breakfast, you can have granola, yoghurts or fruits. I am sure that everyone will find something delicious on the menu.
Food and drinks
Le Coeur Restaurant
As I mentioned earlier there is a lovely restaurant in the hotel: Le Coeur. It has a mountain chalet touch, decorations and even tableware. Windows open onto the main street and the river. While the interior is cosy and welcoming there is also a menu that plays a big role in the overall experience. and The menu offers revisited local cuisine, seasonal products and timeless recipes. We had lunch and dinners there and everything was delicious.
I ordered:
- Beef cheek. Long braised with Mondeuse and polenta with Beaufort.
Anna:
- Sliced beef fillet. Pecorino cheese with pepper, arugula and homemade fries.
Dessert was absolutely delicious and it’s a must-try in Le Coeur Restaurant: Crème brûlée with blueberries. So delicious!
Après- ski terrace and bar Le Meige.
The restaurant is extended by the Après- ski terrace, which serves amazing cocktails, champagne and snacks. There is also a bar, At the bar, the Meige, they offer revisited classic cocktails such as the 5 different Spritzes and healthy creations made from seasonal fruits and vegetables. We tried a few and they were also beautifully served, original and delicious. It’s a great spot for the after-ski even when you are not a hotel guest. A lot of local residents love to come to this place, I am not surprised. Plus prices are very reasonable.
Last, but not least there is an outside bar with mulled wine and hot chocolate. It’s a perfect place to warm up while walking on the main street or doing shopping.
Spa – Tata Harper Signature
The spa at the hotel is a signature spa of eco-friendly luxury beauty brand Tata Harper. It’s an American brand that is a pioneer of the green movement of cosmetics. Tata Harper Skincare products use 450 raw materials from all corners of the globe, formulated at her 1,200-acre dairy farm in Vermont. These are plant-based, have no synthetic component, are 100% non-toxic and not tested on animals. It’s their very first French mountain spa and it’s also the first time that I managed to test these products. I love the treatment so much. There was a lot of natural yet pleasing smells and textures and the facial massage was to die for. In the spa, you can also find two cabins: a sensory shower and a Finnish sauna. Everything that will make you relax after a day of skiing or hiking.

Stay at Cœur de Megève can’be even better. The hotel has prepared many special packages and offers. For example

This one sounds super tempting to me. There is a snowshoe walk in the heart of nature, between forest and river, and then a gourmet aperitif in an igloo.
Summary
I truly had the most wonderful stay at Cœur de Megève. I loved the location, how beautiful and cosy was the hotel. The food and drinks were delicious and Spa made me relax perfectly. I will definitely come back to stay at this lovely place, especially that Megève is one of my fav ski stations in the area. I stayed there many times, but never in such a great location. In short, I recommend this hotel to:
