Hotel des Trois Couronnes. – Review.
Nestled on the Swiss Riviera in Vevey, Hôtel des Trois Couronnes represents a blend of heritage, luxury, and serenity. Facing the shimmering waters of Lake Geneva with the Alps towering beyond, it offers guests more than just a place to stay—it offers an experience steeped in culture, elegance, and personalised comfort. I stayed in the hotel with my husband, and I wanted to focus on a wellness stay, filled with spa time, massages and rejuvenating time by the lake. It turned out that it was the perfect location for this style getaway. A place that is tranquil, yet elegant, beautiful and with this beautiful Palace aura.

A Rich History & Cultural Legacy
Since its opening in 1842, Hôtel des Trois Couronnes has been one of Switzerland’s historic palaces. It was erected on the former site of the Château des Belles-Truches, and its name was adopted from an inn (“Trois Couronnes”) owned by Gabriel Monnet. Right now we can still see 3 corones in the hall.

Over generations, the hotel has welcomed royalty, composers, writers, and artists—Tchaïkovsky, Camille Saint-Saëns, Henry Miller, Charlie Chaplin, among others. Its role in the regional arts scene continues via partnerships with prestigious festivals like Montreux Jazz, Septembre Musical, and the Images.

Rooms, Suites & Atmosphere
The hotel offers 71 luminous rooms, among which 25 are Suites & Junior Suites, tastefully combining classical Swiss charm with modern luxury. Many are oriented southwards with views across the lake and the Alps. I was staying in the Lake view suite with an incredible terrace that made us want to stay there all day.

Room categories include:
- Deluxe Lake View Rooms: 30-40 m², many with balcony or terrace, offering sweeping views of Lac Léman and the mountains.
- Belle Époque Suites: Spacious (60-80 m²), with separate lounge, classical decor, and elegant furnishings.
- Executive Rooms: slightly more contemporary style, partial lake/alpine views.

Amenities in rooms are high-end: air conditioning, digital TV, premium toiletries (Molton Brown), room-service, etc. Pets are welcome (with an extra fee).

Gastronomy & Dining
Gastronomy is central at Trois Couronnes. I must say that dinner at this Palace hotel was exquisite and worth going there just for it. We ate at the Le 3C Restaurant & Bar: a stylish brasserie offering a fresh menu, as it’s hunting season, there was a lot of game on the menu, and everything was truly delicious.

There is also a fine Japanese dining restaurant, awarded 14/20 by Gault & Millau, where Kaiseki cuisine finds a luxurious stage.
With such care in culinary craft, guests can savour a journey from local Swiss touches to international gastronomy, all while enjoying views over the lake.
Regarding the breakfast. It is served in beautifully decorated rooms. There is a buffet choice but also a la carte dishes, like for example eggs prepared in different styles.

Spa, Wellness & Facilities

For relaxation, Hôtel des Trois Couronnes excels. It was one of the main reasons for me to visit Vevey. I wanted to relax between Fashion Week’s intense schedule, and it was so worth it. At the Puressens Spa you can choose from many different treatments and also enjoy an indoor swimming pool, steam room, sauna and Jacuzzi. There is also a fitness centre and a private terrace with lake views and sunbeds. Lastly I wanted to add that my favourite Collagen brand MyPureSkin is also avaulable over there and now guests can get their collagen cuires on site.
